10 METRI FISSI (2010)

10 Metri Fissi begins with a found roll of ribbon whose label states its exact length: ten fixed metres.
Taking this measurement literally, the entire length of the ribbon becomes the material and the rule for constructing a series of wearable objects. Through winding, folding and accumulation, a predetermined quantity is transformed into form.
The work begins not with an image to reproduce, but with a constraint already contained in the found object.
