I work where objects, bodies and relationships stop coinciding with themselves. A mould holds an absence, a jewel becomes a relic, something preserved becomes a weight, an act of care can turn into control. Through casting, sewing, accumulation and repeated action, I create objects and situations that attempt to hold what cannot be fully contained: memories, absent or possible lives, the presence of another person. The body is a temporary support within this process. It carries, protects, loses and releases. At times, an object is held close to the body; at others, it establishes the distance and dependency between two bodies. My work moves between holding and letting go, offering and refusing, proximity and separation. Rather than resolving these tensions, I am interested in the unstable space they produce, where something persists, but never fully comes back together.
