A CASA (2024)
Two-part performance, personal belongings, transparent film and glass vessels
A Casa is a two-part performance structured around two opposing gestures: holding on and letting go.
In Non mi lasciare, objects collected and kept over time are attached to my body using transparent film. As they accumulate, the body becomes a temporary support for a personal archive, an attempt to carry what has been preserved and to prevent it from becoming separate.
In Fragile, glass vessels, many of which had been kept from my wedding, are balanced on my head one after another. Each vessel is held until it falls; after the impact, another is taken up and the action begins again. The sound of the glass breaking makes separation physical and irreversible. Letting go does not appear as a single liberating gesture, but as a repeated act: holding, losing and beginning again. Together, the two performances place the body between attachment and release, as a surface on which objects can be held, and as a precarious support from which they can fall.
