Ave Maria (2022-2024)
Video performance and jewels, glass beads, 18kt gold, thread.
Ave Maria emerges from a slow, repetitive practice: sewing one bead after another to create forms that evoke organs, bodily fragments, and votive objects. In the accompanying video, the act of sewing is intertwined with the recitation of the Hail Mary. Needle, thread, voice, and prayer unfold through repetition, transforming the manual process into a ritual of concentration and waiting. Created over several years, these objects hold within them the time required for their making, inhabiting an uncertain space between jewellery, relic, and wearable sculpture.
