Unpersonal Recollection_The House in Front of the Wall (2009)
Cast fragments, silver, 18kt gold and resin
The House in Front of the Wall begins with fragments taken from architectural details and domestic ornament. Through casting, these partial forms are separated from their original context and preserved as impressions. What remains is neither the original object nor its reproduction, but a fragment carrying the trace of the form from which it came. Removed from the architecture they once belonged to, these fragments become small, portable remains of an imagined place.
